LIGHTWORLD Presentation
The official presentation of LightWorld Inc was held on Saturday March 5 at the restaurant hall of LABOD Hotel, Bodija, Ibadan, Nigeria. The event slated for 10 am brought together several young people from every walk of life.
After the opening prayer, everyone took the National Anthem, and Laide Akinbode, a Lightworld team member gave the Welcome Address. Newly released video by Youngstars Foundation Jos ‘My Vote fit Change Naija’ featuring Julius Agwu, 2shot and other artistes was shown in mobilisation for the April elections. Olaobaju Oluwaseyi gave the first presentation on Emerging Leaders and Societies. The talk focused on Deepening Democracy, Political Parties, Ideologies and Operations. He asked participants from the ongoing radical transformation in the world and Mohammed Boazizi story why great national transformations have been pioneered by common people, the answer he postulated was ‘taking personal ownership of the problems’. He said too much complacent Nigerians is the reason for poor governance in Nigeria. Obajeun Ayodele, an Engineer at P&G and founder of National Tolerance Academy also charged the attentive audience to take responsibility for the nation.
There was a short interlude after which Joseph Opoola, also a team member took Chris Rice song ‘Carry your Candle’ to the admiration and inspiration of everyone. The Visionary of Lightworld, Olaobaju Oluwaseyi again came to present LIGHTWORLD; Mission, Objectives, Values, Operations and other pertinent information about the organisation. The mission he said is to develop and deploy a new generation of youths with adequate intellectual prowess to confront the challenges of the day. People with an Institutional Culture, Mindset, Workset and World view. The four focus areas include Human Capital Development, Peace Advocacy, Entrepreneurship Development and Good Governance. It was an electrifying presentation.
There were feedbacks from the audience and ideas generation with suggestions. Ibadan based Pastor Mike Ilesanmi of Divine Message Ministry came up to dedicate the vision, he encouraged everybody to keep praying for the nation and her leaders after which all attendees gave good will messages. The presentation ended with everyone lighting a candle as a physical representation of the organisation and the maiden newsletter LIGHTWORLD distributed to all. It was an impactful presentation with everyone set to making a difference in the society no matter the darkness. The event was anchored by ace comedian Le’Muyiwa Adigun.
